List of Contents
Pikmin 4 follows a rookie Rescue Corps member that must find all their shipwrecked crewmates and the famed Captain Olimar.
In Pikmin 4, Olimar once again crashes in PNF-404, notably with the S.S. Dolphin, which he hasn't used since the first game. This points to the game's events happening after Pikmin 3, as he likely regained it at a later time. However, exactly how much time has passed between the two games is left unclear.
Should You Play Pikmin 3 First?
Pikmin 3 hinted that PNF-404 might be Earth in the very distant future. However, Pikmin 4 makes it less clear as the Hero's Hideaway is based on a present-day house in relatively good condition.
Regardless, the fact that there are only creatures and Pikmin around makes it clear that whatever inhabited the planet originally is long gone, and all that's left behind are treasures for you to collect.
