Night Expeditions Tips and Tricks |

Glow Pikmin are your main force at night, so you'll want to start with more of them. Focus on increasing your numbers first by collecting nearby Glow Pellets.
There's no need to return to the Lumiknoll for the Glow Pikmin as they don't stay idle and teleport to either you or Oatchi instead!
Glow Pikmin Guide and How to Get
Tricknolls can be activated to make more Glow Pikmin and draw attention away from the Lumiknoll. When they aren't being used as a decoy, make sure to transport any nearby pellets to make more Glow Pikmin. While there's no penalty for losing them, keeping them active is always helpful!
Oatchi will eventually learn how to guard Lumiknolls on his own. You can command him to patrol them so he can automatically attack any enemies that get close. You can even switch to him so the Glow Pikmin can provide him some backup!
Prioritize assigning Oatchi for combat situations as you can assign your Glow Pikmin to gather the Glow Pellets for you.
Command Effect and How to Unlock
While it's safer to stay close to the Lumiknoll, you may want to explore the map to take out enemies in advance or stop one of their spawn points. Constantly check your night radar or minimap to ensure the Lumiknoll isn't in immediate danger.
Protecting the Lumiknoll is your primary objective, so it's best to clear out enemies that get too close. You don't have to defeat all creatures on the map as long as you can make it to sunrise.
A great way to defend the Lumiknoll is by using a Glowmob. Hold the X Button to gather up the Glow Pikmin and release to stun nearby enemies! You can increase the effectiveness of the Glowmob ability if you have more Glow Pikmin with you.
Note that Oatchi can't initiate a Glowmob since it shares the input with Rush.
At Night Expeditions, you can come across small enemies such as the Bulborb Larva that spawn infinitely until the night ends.
It is recommended to destroy the burrows as soon as possible as their numbers may overwhelm you once they move towards the Tricknolls and Lumiknolls.

Glow Pikmin are the only type of Pikmin you can use at night. Fortunately, these Pikmin are very useful as they are immune to fire, water, electricity, and poison, can stun enemies with a Glowmob, and grow flowers on their own.
Unlike other Pikmin types, Glow Pikmin do not technically die if they get eaten or squished. They will respawn from the Lumiknoll and will teleport to you or Oatchi.
Oatchi also tags along for Night Expeditions, so you won't be alone for these encounters!
Glow Pellets are the little star-like objects needed to make more Glow Pikmin. Have them transport these to Lumiknolls and Tricknolls to create more of them.
Lumiknolls are the keys to making the glow sap needed to cure Leaflings. As such, your main objective during the night is to protect the Lumiknolls at all costs. Keep track of its durability so that it won't be destroyed.
The night will end once time runs out and the Lumiknoll is still standing or if all the frenzied creatures are defeated.
For Night Expeditions with more than one Lumiknoll, losing even one of them will cause you to lose. Always keep an eye on your Lumiknolls so you don't have to try again.
You can start night expeditions on bases that you've unlocked during the daytime. Each base has a danger rating that determines its difficulty and how frenzied the creatures are.

Glow Sap is the main reward for Night Expeditions. You'll get this once you defeat all creatures or defend the Lumiknoll until morning. However, each Lumiknoll can only produce it once, so you'll need to defend other bases to get more.
Glow Sap is used to make the medicine to cure Leaflings and rewards pup drive once they're changed back to normal.
Glow Seeds can be earned depending on the number of Glow Pikmin you have left after a Night Expedition. You'll get a seed for every 5 Glow Pikmin that survive the night.
These seeds can be thrown to produce more Glow Pikmin at night or when underground in caves. Do note that Glow Pikmin created in caves cannot return with you to the surface.
