Drop the Rope and Open the First Gate

Pikmin 4 - Sage Leaf 6th Story Step 1

Throw all your Pikmin at the mushroom near the starting area to drop a nearby rope. Climb the rope and throw 1 Pikmin at the same mushroom to open the first gate. Head to the newly opened area, but don't forget to whistle to get the Pikmin you threw at the button.

Move Base and Collect Northeast Treasures

In this section, you'll find a space to move your base, and you should do so. Grab the treasure behind the bars by timing your Pikmin throw where they will avoid the ice blast on their way down. Ride the yellow platform and throw Pikmin at the hanging treasure. The last treasure in this section can be acquired by having Oatchi rush the wall. Have Oatchi carry this treasure as well to save time.

Break the Ice Wall with Fiery Dweevil's Bomb Rock

Pikmin 4 - Sage Leaf 6th Story Step 3

Pass through the newly lowered gate. Here, you'll find an ice wall. As you move forward, a Fiery Dweevil carrying a Bomb Rock will drop out of nowhere. Have it follow you to the ice wall and run away before the bomb rock explodes to break the wall. There are also a group of Pikmin here you can pick up.

Manipulate Conveyor Belts to Open Gates

In the next section, throw 1 Pikmin at the red button to correct the conveyor belt movement and 1 Pikmin at the mushroom. Watch as the Pikmin traverses the conveyor belts. Press the blue button once it leaves the first belt and the red button again once it leaves the second belt. This will lower the last two gates, leading to the final section where you can end the trial.

All trials of the Sage Leaf can be found when you enter the cave in the north part of the Rescue Command Post.

This cave is unlocked after finishing Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.
