Blue Pikmin	Unlocked in Sun-Speckled Terrace Found in the following caves: ・Secluded Courtyard ・Seafloor Resort ・Engulfed Castle ・Cavern for a King ・Can traverse bodies of water ・Can dive underwater
Yellow Pikmin	Unlocked in Sun-Speckled Terrace Found in the following caves: ・Crackling Cauldron ・Industrial Maze ・Secluded Courtyard ・Below-Grade Discotheque ・Sightless Passage ・Immune to electricity ・Can dig faster ・Can be thrown higher
Purple Pikmin	Unlocked in Serene Shores Found in the following caves: ・Engulfed Castle ・Plunder Palace ・Dream Home ・Subterranean Swarm ・Cavern for a King ・Cradle of the Beast ・Has the strength and weight of 10 regular Pikmin ・Creates a shockwave when thrown ・Slow movement speed ・Cannot be blown away
White Pikmin	Unlocked in Serene Shores Found in the following caves: ・Subzero Sauna ・Doppelganger's Den ・Subterranean Swarm ・Cavern for a King ・Ultimate Testing Range ・Fast movement speed ・Deals damage when eaten ・Can traverse toxic environments
Rock Pikmin	Unlocked in Blossoming Arcadia Found in the following caves: ・Plunder Palace ・Kingdom of Beasts ・Frozen Inferno ・Cradle of the Beast ・Can break glasses and crystals ・Immune to stomp and trample attacks

How to Unlock and Get More Pikmin

Explore the Caves

More Pikmin types are unlocked by following the story! You will find new Pikmin types as you explore new areas and encounter obstacles and enemies that can't be handled by the Pikmin you currently have.

Most Pikmin types are discovered by exploring caves where you will need to help them fight enemies before they can join. Some can simply be plucked out of the ground! You can even revisit caves you've completed 100% to recruit more wild Pikmin to your squad.

Throw Pikmin in Candypop Buds

You'll sometimes encounter colored flowers called Candypop Buds inside caves. You can throw up to 5 of your Pikmin in them to transform them into another Pikmin type.

These buds are the only way to add more Purple Pikmin, White Pikmin, and Winged Pikmin to your squad before getting their onions.

How to Get More Pikmin Fast

Collect Same Color Onion to Get More With Pellets

Once you have unlocked a Pikmin type, you'll also need to find their respective Onion to increase their numbers with pellets and enemies. Try to match the color of the pellets with the Pikmin transporting them to maximize their growth!

Glow Pikmin Require Glow Pellets and Seeds

Unlike the rest of the Pikmin types, you cannot obtain more Glow Pikmin through regular pellets since they don't have an onion. Instead, you'll need to collect the star-shaped Glow Pellets and bring them back to the Lumiknolls to increase their numbers!

By clearing Night Expeditions, you can gain items called Glow Seeds to grow Glow Pikmin inside caves!
