The entrance to the Trial of the Sage Leaf appears at the Rescue Command Post after you clear Olimar's Shipwreck Tale and talk to Olimar.
The Trial of the Sage Leaf takes one exploration day, so it is ideal to clear it in one go the Dandori way!
