How to Reach Subzero Sauna
Head North from the Starting Base
The starting base location is in the southwest part of Serene Shores. Head north, crossing the body of water, to reach the Subzero Sauna cave.

 Arctic Cannon Beetle

The Arctic Cannon Beetle's weak point is its back. Circle around the boss and wait for its wings to open and expose its back before throwing your Pikmin.
You can make the boss fight easier when you break the 3 ice pieces before the fight. This removes the frost effect in the cave, allowing you to use your other Pikmin.

 Use White Pikmin to destroy the poison gas and pick up 10 pieces of the Gold Nugget. |

Create White Pikmin to Collect Gold Nugget
If you go to the left side of the map, you can find a White Candypop Bud. Convert 5 Blue Pikmin into White Pikmin by throwing them into the bud. This allows you to destroy the poison gas and collect the Gold Nugget.
Don't Forget to Pick Up the Gold Nugget on the Right Side of the Map
You can find 5 pieces of Gold Nugget on the right side of the map. Be sure to collect them to obtain 100% completion rate for this cave.

Break the Two Ice Pieces to Get Rid of the Cold
There are two ice pieces on the north and south corners of the second sublevel. Use Ice Pikmin to destroy them and remove the cold effect.

 Pick up the treasure from the ground. |
Contemplation Station Requires 50 Pikmin
The last treasure on the 3rd sublevel requires 50 Pikmin to transport to the base. If you do not have enough Pikmin, you can go back to the surface to increase the count before returning to retrieve the treasure.
You can increase the max Pikmin limit when you obtain Flarlics.

Subzero Sauna Castaway Locations
Rescue the Castaway on the Water at Sublevel 2
The first castaway can be found on the water at the second sublevel. Make sure to destroy the two ice pieces first so you can use Blue Pikmin to rescue the castaway.
Defeat Arctic Cannon Beetle for the Castaway to Appear at Sublevel 3
Defeat the Arctic Cannon Beetle on the 3rd Sublevel of the cave in order for the castaway to appear.

Make sure to bring a lot of Ice Pikmin for this cave as they are the only Pikmin type that can be used in cold areas.
Bring at least 10 or 20 Blue Pikmin as they can pick up the treasures and castaways on bodies of water. You can then use any extra Blue Pikmin to turn them into White Pikmin.
Break All the Ice to Get Rid of the Cold
The frost effect as seen on the corners of the screen prevents you from using Pikmin types other than the Ice Pikmin. In addition, all bodies of water will be frozen.
To remove the frost effect, look for the ice pieces on the map and use Ice Pikmin to destroy them.
Use White Candypop Buds to Increase White Pikmin
You can find White Candypop Buds on the first and second sublevel of the cave. These allow you to throw your Pikmin into the bud to turn them into White Pikmin. There is a limit to how many you can produce, so be sure not to waste any White Pikmin.
