The Water Dumple takes a bit of time to eat and kill a Pikmin, so it is recommended to outnumber it as quickly as you can. For this enemy, the type of Pikmin doesn't matter due to its low health and lack of resistances.
In addition, if the level of Oatchi's Rush ability is high enough, it's also possible to defeat it with a single blow.
