Rewind Time is a new feature launching in Pikmin 4. Learn how to rewind time, its mechanics, and what it does for your Pikmin in this guide.
List of Contents
Rewind Time can be activated by pressing the Options (–) button on your Nintendo Switch. From here, you can choose to go back to a set time and start over from there.
Rewind is a useful feature, especially for beginners. There may be times when you lose Pikmin to enemies or mistakes, but you can use Rewind to reach a point before they die and try again!
Rewind Mechanics |
---|
You can use Rewind as many times as you want in a day. There is no recharge time so make the most out of it while playing Pikmin 4.
Rewind lets you go to your last auto-save by default. However, by using the L-stick or D-pad, you can choose other times to rewind to.
While Rewind is a flexible feature, you cannot use it to travel between areas.
Using Rewind after entering a cave will only allow you to go back to the start of the cave. Once you leave a cave, Rewind then goes only as far as your initial exit where you choose which Pikmin to call or return.
Rewind cannot be used at the Rescue Command Post. In addition, if you rewind immediately after landing in a new area (e.g. the Sun-Speckled Terrace) you can only go back up to the time of your arrival.
Using Rewind may let you correct mistakes and save your Pikmin but it also means losing progress and collected treasures. You cannot undo a rewind so be careful and mindful of your choice.
