The fight only requires you to hit its body so the ever-reliable Red Pikmin will be good for damage. Groovy Long Legs can only deal damage by stomping, so Rock Pikmin can also work well here.
Steps to Beat Groovy Long Legs |

Groovy Long Legs has three different states. It starts off blue and has slower movements. After some time, it will spray a purple substance that will leave your Pikmin confused, making you unable to call them back. They will only snap out of it when Groovy Long Legs reverts to blue or if the Pikmin feel the shockwave of its stomps.
You'll know when it's about to spray once it stays in place and starts bobbing up and down. Call off your attacks at this point so that you'll still have controllable Pikmin for the next phase.
After spraying, its lights will turn yellow, and Groovy Long Legs will stomp around more often. It's best to stick close to its center while attacking to minimize the Pikmin that will get flattened. Dealing enough damage to it can cause it to trip. Remember to recall any Pikmin it shakes off!
If any of your Pikmin got sprayed, they'll mostly stay in the middle in this phase too. However, you can't control their movements, so you can only hope they don't get stomped.
Just like when it's blue, it will stay in place and start bobbing up and down again. This signals that it will release another spray and turn red. Recall any Pikmin still in the center and retreat once it begins charging.
The final phase is when Groovy Long Legs turns red and moves even faster. Your Pikmin will now dance all over the place, greatly increasing the chances of losing them. Since there's not much you can do at this stage, just whistle at any Pikmin that regain their senses and stay away from the legs until it goes back to blue.

Dalmo's Log | With mesmerizing lights that pierce through the darkness and a low groove that stirs your soul, how can you NOT get your dance on?! Is it a creature or a machine? Who cares! Everyone can join this party! A word of caution though—be careful you don't dance right under one of its feet. | ||
Olimar's Log |
This species has some remaining organic internal organs, but its carapace and eyes are made up of inorganic material. All 19 of its eyes are actually photoelectric sensors that the species uses to precisely locate its prey. The gas emitted from the posterior of its first leg joints includes a chemical substance that, after making contact with another organism's brain, temporarily controls that organism's actions. The Groovy Long Legs uses this natural phenomenon, called the "Endless Dance," to make its prey jump between its legs while it moves around in bizarre rhythms. The entire interaction is seemingly odd for a living organism, but the line between organic and inorganic on this planet is not always clear. |

Louie's Log | This creature is mostly tendon, so it often gets stuck in your teeth. Smells like burnt plastic or possibly metal. |
Groovy Long Legs can only be found in one location in the game.
