The Sylvan Gate is one of the areas in Primordial Thicket where you can conduct Night Expeditions in Pikmin 4. Here are some tips and strategies on completing the Night Expedition in The Sylvan Gate and a list of enemies that will appear so you can prepare beforehand!

Leave the Lumiknoll to Oatchi
With the presence of Bulborb Larvae in the stage, it is recommended to seek and destroy their nests and leave Oatchi at the Lumiknoll. Try to defeat the other enemies you find along the way as well.
Oatchi should be able to defend the Lumiknoll by himself. If things get dicey at the base, send the Glow Pikmin squad to him or upgrade his skills.
Smoky Progg is Summoned Far From the Lumiknoll
The Smoky Proggs in this level will spawn far from the Lumiknoll. They will both pass through the hollow trunk up north, so you don't have to worry for a pincer attack.
You should have ample time to prepare before they arrive, so focus on the other enemies first while collecting glow pellets to strengthen your Glowmob.
Use Glowmob on Bigger Enemies
The Smoky Progg and Spotty Bulbears should be dealt with using a Glowmob. Just make sure to have a sizeable Glow Pikmin squad with you to stun them for longer.
Activate Tricknolls for Additional Defense
Be sure to activate the Tricknolls to slow down the advancing enemies and make it easier for your Glow Pikmin to transport glow pellets. One is located east of the Lumiknoll and the other near the center of the map.
