Get the Rock Onion in Giant's Hearth

The Rock Onion can be found in Giant's Hearth, the 5th area of the game. This area will be accessible after completing the main story and rescuing Olimar. To get the Rock Onion, you'll need to defeat a giant enemy in the area.

Having the Rock Onion as part of the onion ship in your base lets you produce Rock Pikmin by retrieving pellets or enemies.

Rock Pikmin can destroy crystal walls, glass, and shells with their headbutts! If you run into sturdy objects that your other Pikmin can't break, try sending Rock Pikmin to smash them!

Immune to Stomp and Trample Attacks

Due to their hard bodies, Rock Pikmin won't get hurt even if they get stomped on or trampled! They might get buried in the ground, though, so quickly recall them to get back to the fight!

Deals High Damage But Does Not Stick to Enemies

Rock Pikmin will not stick to enemies when thrown, and therefore, cannot deal continuous damage.

In exchange, they deal the most damage among all Pikmin when thrown. These Pikmin can be especially useful in boss fights and hit-and-run tactics when fighting enemies with a lot of health.

Dalmo	Rock Pikmin may be rugged and craggy in appearance, but their well-polished skin is cool and smooth to the touch. Those dark, shiny stone bodies are built for defense, and they're capable attackers too. And did you notice those stubby little legs? Aren't they the cutest!
Olimar	This species is definitely as member of the Pikmin genus, but its body does not share any of the plant-like traits that Pikmin are known for. INstead, it's composed primarily of stone. The stone is actually the chosen host for a pasitic subset of Pikmin species named "Hermikmin." Similar to how a seed can sprout and push through the cracks of a rock, the Pikmin's roots stretch deep into the stone, storing its vital organs in an interior cavity that resembles a crystal geode. Because this species displays characteristics common in parasitism, one could hypothesize that the Rock Onion and Rock Candypop Bud stockpile stone that will eventually become Pikmin.
