Learn all Onion locations in Pikmin 4 to increase your Pikmin population in the game. These Onions make it more convenient to replenish certain Pikmin types that are instrumental to overcoming obstacles.

All Onion Types and Locations
Here we listed all the Onion types and their locations so you can start expanding your army of Pikmin!
- 1 Red Onion at the Rescue Command Post
- 2 Yellow Onion at Sun-Speckled Terrace and Blossoming Arcadia
- 2 Blue Onion at Sun-Speckled Terrace and Serene Shores
- 1 Ice Onion at Frozen Inferno
- 1 Rock Onion at Giant's Hearth
- 1 Pink Onion at Primordial Thicket
- 1 White Onion can be obtained by completing the 5th stage of the Trial of the Sage Leaf
- 1 Purple Onion can be obtained by completing the last stage of the Trial of the Sage Leaf
Red Onion Location
The Red Onion is the first Onion type you get in Pikmin 4. You encounter the Red Onion early into the game before reaching the Rescue Command Post. It's impossible to miss!
Use it to get your basic starter Red Pikmin.

There are two Yellow Onions in Pikmin 4. One is located behind an electric fence in Sun-Speckled Terrace, while the other is found buried in Blossoming Arcadia.
Since the Yellow Onion in Sun-Speckled Terrace is locked behind a yellow gate, you'll first need to gather Yellow Pikmin from the area's caves. The other Yellow Onion in Blossoming Arcadia is easier to get to.
Sun-Speckled Terrace Yellow Onion
| How to Get the Sun-Speckled Terrace Yellow Onion | |

| 1 |  Destroy the long electric gate with Yellow Pikmin. |
| 2 |  Proceed straight to reach the Yellow Onion that is blocked by a paper bag. |
| 3 |  Flatten the bag by throwing 10 Pikmin. |
| 4 |  Carry the Yellow Onion back to base, ideally to the Meandering Slope (Base 3). |
Blossoming Arcadia Yellow Onion
| How to Get the Blossoming Arcadia Yellow Onion | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Cross the bridge from Base 1, face it, and then turn right. |
| 2 |  Destroy the dirt wall. |
| 3 | After breaking, move to the front of the wall and climb the hill. |
| 4 |  Collect the Yellow Onion. To easily return to base, drop the paper bag near its location. |

There are two Blue Onions in Pikmin 4. One is located across a pond in Sun-Speckled Terrace, while the other is found by completing a rough wall in Serene Shores.
Since the Blue Onion in Sun-Speckled Terrace is across a pond, you'll need to find a way to cross. You'll first need to gather Ice Pikmin from the area's caves. The other Blue Onion in Serene Shores is easier to get to.
Sun-Speckled Terrace Blue Onion

| 1 |  Move your base to the Rugged Scaffold (Base 2). |
| 2 |  Freeze the water with 30 Ice Pikmin. |
| 3 |  Complete the wall on the left with 15 Raw Material. |
| 4 |  Recall all your Pikmin and climb the wall before the ice melts. Leave Oatchi by the wall. |
| 5 |  Carry the Blue Onion until the Pikmin can't proceed. |
| 6 |  Recall your Pikmin to freeze the water again. |
| 7 |  Recall Oatchi and have him and the rest of the Pikmin carry the Blue Onion back. |
Serene Shores Blue Onion
| How to Get the Serene Shores Blue Onion | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Move your base to the Sand Keep (Base 3). |
| 2 |  Complete the Rough Wall. |
| 3 |  Use Blue Pikmin to collect the Blue Onion. |
Ice Onion Location
There is only one Ice Onion in Pikmin 4, and it is located in Hero's Hideaway.
To get the Ice Onion, you will need the Scorch Guard for yourself and Oatchi before entering the Frozen Inferno cave. You'll also need Ice Pikmin to freeze the Hydro Jelly.
Hero's Hideaway Ice Onion Location
| How to Get the Hero's Hideaway Ice Onion | |

| 1 |  Go to the Feasting Centre (Base 2). |
| 2 |  Head to the top through the tunnel. |
| 3 | Explore the Frozen Inferno Cave. You'll need the Scorch Guard for both you and Oatchi first. |
| 4 |  Jump on the floating platform. |
| 5 | Destroy the Hydro Jelly using Ice Pikmin. |
| 6 |  Throw your Pikmin to carry the Onion to your base. |
Rock Onion Location
There is only one Rock Onion in Pikmin 4. It is located in Giant's Hearth, and to reach this location, you'll need to complete the game's main story and rescue Olimar. You will also need Bomb Rocks to get the Rock Onion.
Giant's Hearth Rock Onion
| How to Get the Giant's Hearth Rock Onion | |

| 1 | Rescue Olimar and complete the main game. |
| 2 |  Go to the Abandoned Throne base at the Giant's Hearth. |
| 3 |  Face the hearth and turn left. Use your Bomb Rocks to destroy the wall. |
| 4 |  Defeat the enemy found in the area that you just entered. |
| 5 |  Go a little further in to find the Rock Onion. |
Pink Onion Location
There is only one Pink Onion in Pikmin 4, and it is located in Primordial Thicket. To get the Pink Onion, you need to have rescued Olimar and cleared the Dandori Battle with Louie.
Primordial Thicket Pink Onion
| How to Get the Primordial Thicket Pink Onion | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Rescue Olimar and complete the main game. |
| 2 | Win the Dandori Battle with Louie at the Giant's Hearth. |
| 3 |  Move to Base 2 of the Primordial Thicket Area. |
| 4 | Head towards the road with the box on a hill. |
| 5 |  Throw White Pikmin to destroy the poison geysers. You can do this later, or you can practice Dandori and clear the way early! |
| 6 |  Use your Pikmin to push the box and climb up the left-hand side. |
| 6 |  Carry the Onion to your base. |
White Onion Location
There is only one White Onion in Pikmin 4. You can get the White Onion only after completing the 5th stage of Trial of the Sage Leaf. The Trial of the Sage Leaf only unlocks after you clear Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.
Purple Onion Location
Similar to the White Onion, there is only one Purple Onion in Pikmin 4. You can only get the onion after completing the last stage of Trial of the Sage Leaf. The trial only unlocks after you clear Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.
Onion Uses
Increases Pikmin Population
Onions serve as your Pikmin's home in Pikmin 4. Successfully transporting them to your base will allow you to collect pellets during exploration and increase the number of Pikmin that you have.
However, you can only increase a Pikmin type's number once you have their corresponding Onion!
