There may be a bug in Palworld where using Lifmunk Effigies has the reverse effect of decreasing your capture power. Check out more details on Palworld's Lifmunk Effigy issue and if there is a fix for it.

Capture Power Decreases
Players have reported that after offering collected Lifmunk Effigies to the Statue of Power, capturing pals became harder, which is the opposite of the intended effect.
How to Fix Lifmunk Effigy Bug
Fixed in Version 0.1.4.1
This bug appears to have been fixed in the Version 0.1.4.1 update for Steam (0.1.1.4 on Xbox). Following this update, the capture rate being displayed should accurately reflect the actual capture rate.
Using Lifmunk Effigies to increase your Capture Power should now work as intended.
What are Lifmunk Effigies?
Offer to Statue of Power to Increase Capture Power
Lifmunk Effigies are green sculptures found all over the map that you can collect. After collecting, you can offer them to a placed Statue of Power or those found in Abandoned Churches.
Offering Lifmunk Effigies will increase your Capture Rate, making it easier to catch Pals. The cost of upgrading your Capture Rate will increase each time.
