Link Elemental Materia with Fire Materia on Your Weapon

It is highly recommended to equip the Elemental Materia and link it with the Fire Materia on your weapon as it will infuse your basic attacks with the Fire element which will help greatly on filling the stagger gauge when Brineborn Demon gets pressured.

Cast Haste to Speed Up ATB Gauge at the Start of Battle

Equip the Time materia and First Strike to cast Haste to party members at the start of battle so that they can build up their ATB Gauge quickly. This is essential so that Aerith can cast Fire spells quickly and Cloud can capitalize on Brineborn Demon's pressured state with Focused Thrust.

Use Firebolt Blade to Close In to Brineborn Demon

Since Brineborn Demon always jumps around during the fight, use Firebolt Blade to get closer to the Brineborn Demon while dealing bonus damage since the attack's attribute is Fire which is the element Brineborn Demon is weak against.

Use Braver During Demonic Defense

When Brineborn Demon uses Demonic Defense, your attack will bounce off. If you have the ATB for it, use Cloud's Braver to bypass this ability and damage the enemy.

Cast Faith to Aerith to Buff Her Magic

Equip the Empowerment materia to Yuffie and cast Faith to Aerith to buff her magical attacks like Fire spells which will deal heavy damage against Brineborn Demon.

Use Arcane Ward During Counterstance

After buffing Aerith with Faith, use Aerith's Arcane Ward to cast Fire spells (preferably Firaga) twice. It is best to summon an Arcane Ward during Brineborn Demon's Counterstance as it is the time when it is pressured.

The Arcane Ward ability can be learned by equipping the Guard Stick and mastering its weapon ability. You can then use Arcane Ward without equipping Guard Stick after mastering it.

It will become pressured when it assumes a Counterstance. After a certain amount of time passes, it will unleash Graviga on the party and revert to its normal stance.
