Level Scaling Explained
There is no level scaling in Avowed and areas have their own recommended levels. Read on for more info on level scaling and whether enemies scale with your level!
Do Enemies Scale With Your Level?
Enemies Do Not Scale With Your Level
As you progress naturally through the game's story, you will be introduced to new areas or zones. These zones have their own unique environment, set of quests, loot, and enemies.
Rather than scaling with your current level, enemies scale depending on what zone you are in. Though you are not necessarily restricted by your level when you enter a new zone, you may be underleveled and struggle to explore it!
How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor
Skulls Indicate Difficulty
You may see skull icons next to quests in your Journal's Quest tab. This indiciates difficulty, with three skulls being the highest you can get. If you see three skulls, it means the quest is going to be very difficult with the weapons and armor you have equipped.
Skull icons and the enemy gear quality is shown next to enemy health bars. The more skulls you see, the more difficult the fight will be! However, do note that skulls may not be so accurate in the easier difficulty settings.
