How to Unlock Three Small Things
Complete Melody of the Valley
Three Small Things is unlocked after completing the previous sidequest, Melody of the Valley and has no level restriction.

Three Small Things Walkthrough
- Find Carly
- Go to the Medical Bay to Find Ropp the Scientist
- Leave the Medical Bay
- Look for the Filter at the Power Plateau
- Go Deeper into the Blighted Zone
- Scan the First Location
- Scan the Second Location
- Scan and Search the Nearby Areas
- Go to the Next Location
- Defeat the Anomalous Landbreakers
- Look for the Filter
Find Carly
Immediately after delivering the final package, Miguel mentions Carly playing hide and seek and asks Gilberta to find Carly and play along with her. Use the Scan tool to see Carly's footprints. Follow them to find Carly hiding in a corner.
Take a Photo of Gilberta and Carly
After speaking with Carly about photography, Gilberta asks you to take a photo of her and Carly. Make sure to include both Gilberta and Carly in the photo.
Go to the Medical Bay to Find Ropp the Scientist
You get a message from Andre to visit Ropp in the medical bay. You can find him lying down inside being monitored by Miguel. Try talking to Ropp.
Leave the Medical Bay
After learning that Ropp has been unconscious for a week, you and Gilberta exit the medical bay. Gilberta blames herself for failing to help the crew at the Power Plant.
Look for the Filter at the Power Plateau
Head to the Power Plant at Power Plateau to look for the filter Andre is looking for. The area ahead is being blocked by UWST crew mates. You convince the crew mate in charge to give you time to search for the filter.
Go Deeper into the Blighted Zone
Head inside the cave into the Blighted Zone. Use the Scanner tool to expose the Blight core and destroy it to continue forward.
Scan the First Location
With more Blight mudflows, keep using the Scanner and destroy the core. After clearing two Blight mudflows, use the Scanner to find a bottle with a note inside.
Scan the Second Location
Use the Scanner again to scan the second location. You find another bottle nearby with a note inside.
Scan and Search the Nearby Areas
Take the path upwards and use the Scanner to find a third bottle by a ledge. With all three damaged logs found, you and Gilberta look at the damage in the area.
Go to the Next Location
Talk to Gilberta to go to the next location. You will enter Immersion Mode where some features may not be available.
Defeat the Anomalous Landbreakers
As you go to the next location, Anomalous Landbreakers block your path. Defeat all 7 enemies to continue with your journey.
Look for the Filter
Gilberta makes us lighter jump over the gaps to the next floating land. Keep jumping until you reach the highest point to look for the filter. Take the locked safe with the filter inside and bring it to Andre.
