How to Unlock Treasure Beneath the Pond

Drain the Water in Tianjiang Courtyard

Drain the Water in Tianjiang Courtyard

To start Treasure Beneath the Pond, you first need to drain the water that's currently submerging the ruins of Tianjing Courtyard. Once the water is completely drained, speak to Tianshi Bao overlooking the ruins nearby to start the quest.

Take note that draining the water from the Tianjing Courtyard takes roughly 11 hours to finish IRL, which means it's best to start draining it as soon as you spot the Courtyard!

How to Drain the Water

Place a Fluid Pump
Place a Fluid Pump near the very edge of the submerged hole. The pump needs to sit right near the edge to properly drain the water.

Place a Fluid Supply Unit Near the River
Place a Fluid Supply Unit near the edge of the river southeast of the submerged hole. This is where the water you'll be draining from the hole will go to.

Connect the Two Structures With Pipes
Connect the Fluip Pump and the Fluid Supply Unit with a pipe

Place a Xiranite Relay
Place a Xiranite Relay near each of the Fluid Units to supply them with power. Make sure there's a nearby Xiranite Relay to connect to your newly set up relays so they can supply power to the Fluid Units.

Drain the Submerged Ruins
Once the fluid units are powered, you'll need to wait until the ruins are completely drained which roughly takes about 11 hours to finish. Once the ruins are completely drained, speak to Tianshi Bao to start the quest.

  1. View Bao's Message
  2. Head to the Bottom of Tianjing Courtyard
  3. Activate the Mechanisms at the Bottom of the Courtyard
  4. Enter the Gate and Search for the Treasure
  5. Leave the Undergrounds

Speak to Tianshi Bao after draining the submerged ruins and he'll send you a message on your baker where he also says that you'll need a Jet Drone to access some mechanisms within the ruins.

Head to the Bottom of Tianjing Courtyard

Head down the now drained Tianjing Ruins. Make sure your Jet Drone has some fluids equipped since you'll need to use it in several puzzles within.

Use the Jet Drone on the Spinning Wheel
Head down the path and use the Jet Drone to shoot the red spinning wheel to open the nearby door.

Head inside and use the Jet Drone to open the next door.

Get the Key from Under the Box
Follow the path heading right and destroy the box to get the first Tianjing Courtyard Key.

Destroy the Boxes
Head back to the main path and follow it until you reach a small alcove with two boxes blocking it. Destroy the boxes and drop down the gap in the ground where the next red spinning wheel is located.

Activate the Next Spinning Wheel
Use the Jet Drone to bring down the nearby platform. Hope on the platform and wait for it to ascend again so you can cross to the other side of the gap.

Activate the Next Wheel
Follow the path and break a couple of boxes so you can use the Jet Drone on the hidden spinning wheel. This will lift up another platform so you can cross the next gap.

Get the Second Key
Hope across the now activated platform to reach the other side, then grab the second Tianjing Courtyard Key on the floor.

Shoot the Red Spinning Wheel
Head back out to the main path and follow it all the way down until you reach a narrow cave with a locked door and a red spinning wheel next to it. Use the Jet Drone to shoot the spinning wheel with water to open the door.

Open the Next Locked Door
Head inside the now open path and hop on the nearby boxes so you can shoot the red spinning wheel through the hole in the wall.

Open the Gate
Follow the path inside and use the Jet Drone to open the metal gate to the central area and make sure to grab the third Tianjing Courtyard Key on the floor. Once outside, drop down the central area for a cutscene.

Activate the Mechanisms at the Bottom of the Courtyard

Place the Keys on the Mechanisms

Place the three Tianjing Courtyard Keys you collected earlier on the three mechanisms to open the large gate.

Enter the Gate and Search for the Treasure

Enter the Gate and Search for the Treasure

Head inside the large cave and inspect the note on a table for a cutscene. Tianshi Bao reveals that Du Qusheng is his grandfather and that the treasure is and old batch of brew.

Leave the Undergrounds

Leave the Undergrounds

Follow the path north and use the nearby rope to head back up. Follow the path up and the mission will complete as soon as you reach the surface.

FYI You can run 7 fluid pumps to to 3 fluid tanks each then route that through convergers to 3 fluid supply units and empty it in an hour and a half
