As you develop the AIC and unlock more Facilities to process resources, you will grow the base to automate several production lines at once. It is ideal to plan ahead of time, as setting your base up without prior ideas may lead to a disorganized layout.
The factory layout and base guides above will help you pace yourself to see which items to aim for, and strategies on how to tackle each production line!

Blueprints will save you tons of time, as this allows you to readily plop down a pre-defined connections of belts and machines to create a certain end product.
We suggest checking out the best blueprints we have listed in the article below as well as blueprints shared by the community in the message board!

Several AIC upgrades can be acquired by progressing the Main Story, some of which are essential for proceeding into further upgrades for your base. These mainly include Outposts for further space, allowing you to build more production lines for more resources, as well as the Basic Expansion Core, which gives you access to more facilities for your AIC.

Mining spots are your bestfriend, and as soon as you unlock Electric Miners you can just plop them down and it will be automatically transferred to your AIC Storage! The catch is, all mining nodes must have access to electricity so we get to our next tip.
All Ore Locations and Mining Spots

All electricity is generated in PAC's and Sub-PAC's, so you should always lay down electric Relay Towers to areas that need them - like mining nodes. These will enable you to get more resources that will in turn, drive your factory to success!
During our playthrough, we always bring a sizable amount of Relay Towers in our inventory, and lay them down as we explore new areas.
| Area | with PAC or Sub-PAC |
|---|---|
| The Hub | PAC |
| Valley Pass | Sub-PAC |
| Aburrey Quarry | No Factory (nearest: The Hub) |
| Originium Science Park | Sub-PAC |
| Origin Loadspring | No Factory (nearest: Originium Science Park) |
| Power Plateau | Sub-PAC |
| Wuling City | PAC |
| Jingyu Valley | Sub-PAC |
For areas without any PAC's or Sub-PAC's, the only way to get power to them is to use relay towers from the nearest factories.

Like the usual factory game, power is the heart and soul of your factory. Make sure to manage your power well, and scale up as you add more production lines and more machines in your factory. Always make sure that your power supply chain is at 100% efficiency and nothing less because a broken power production affects the entire factory.
Power is mostly generated in Thermal Banks, with the battery type you feed it dictating the power each bank provide.
How to Increase AIC Power Output

Regional Development is a mechanic that can affect your AIC resource gathering, with higher Regional Development levels granting increased Mining Node Purity, as well as additional resource nodes to some.
To raise your Regional Development level, you must increase your Regional Development Metrics, which you can get by rigging mining spots for the first time, upgrading Outposts, unlocking Recycling Stations, and more.
Regional Development Management Guide

As you explore and take on quests in Arknights: Endfield, you will come across various Outposts that will open their land for you to setup a Sub-PAC. Consider this like a satellite factory outside your main factory, essentially increasing your factory space.
The Depot (storage) of all the Sub-PAC and the main PAC are shared within each region.

As your factory grows, so is the space required for those production lines. Expand your Factory space by spending Stock Bills with the AIC Steward, permanently present near your PAC and Sub-PAC Hubs after completing the AIC Steward Mission.

Though you can farm Stock Bills from Outpost Orders, it is much better to try and unlock Elastic Bond training in Stock Redistribution.
Elastic Goods are basically stocks, which will reward you for selling high and buying low. Note that your friends will have fluctuating prices for goods, so it is essential to have a lot for selling!
Stock Redistribution Guide (Stock Market)

Outposts can also be assigned Operators to act as Liasons, with each Operator having Liason traits that can influence the Outpost they are assigned to. Pay attention to the Outpost's qualities, and select an appropriate Liason to maximize their bonuses. This helps with Stock Bills accumulation, since Stock Redistribution has a daily limit.

Once you reach mid to late-game in Valley IV, it's best to prioritize producing components for Gears and batteries for Thermal Banks!
Sandleaf Power is the most important item late-game, so set it up as soon as you can! If you still have space in your factory, include Buck Capsules for healing items.
| Skill Type | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Mining | ★★★★★ |
| Power | ★★★★★ |
| Processing | ★★★★☆ |
| Logistics (Transportation) | ★★★★☆ |
| Exploration | ★★★☆☆ |
| Combat | ★★☆☆☆ |
The most important part is to get the Mining Index Points as soon as they are available, as one of the most common ingredients across components needed to craft gear for your characters and many other recipes.
Power is next because those Mining Facilities won't run unless they have electricity wired into them. After that is the Processing, which includes the machines needed to work through the raw materials.
Logistics include the Item Control Ports and Belts needed to transfer materials from one unit to another.
The rest are for ease of exploration and base defense, so upgrade those as needed!

At the start of the game, the index points will have recommendations, marked as Rec, on which one you must upgrade first. Simply follow these recommendations and fulfill any requirements as needed!

As soon as you unlock Basic AIC II unlock the points in the images as soon as possible. These include the Thermal Bank Index Point, the Depot Bus, and many more that would essentially make it easier for you to set up the factory!

The Automated Industry Complex (AIC) can process raw materials gathered to create products such as gear, medication, food, and explosives, to name a few. These can be done via facilities linked by logistics units to create automated production lines at the base.
Your base will be a significant source of your resources for Operator and Weapon development, so make sure not to neglect upgrading and maintaining the AIC.
Combat facilities are available in the AIC, aiding in battles by either damaging the enemy or healing the team. These can greatly help in combat scenarios where the AIC is available for use, especially if the enemy is a higher level.

As you level up your Outposts, you will get access to Imminent Incursions. This is a tower defense game mode, similar to the first Arknights game, which will require you to setup combat facilities in a set path.
Imminent Incursion Tower Defense Guide

Some facilities in the AIC can aid exploration through facilities such as the zipline, which can be used to quickly access hard-to-reach areas. This includes locations with rare materials, some of which can only be accessed after going through a winding path or by platforming.

The AIC has Planting Units, automating the process of growing common plants in high volumes. You can then use these common plants to craft helpful items, such as healing items and even explosives.
