Etchspace Salvage is a replayable extraction-style game mode where you can collect materials as the Derangement Acceleration risk increases. Learn how to unlock Etchspace Salvage, how to start, and more here!

Precipitation Crystals are scattered throughout the map, and can be destroyed to get Nodules. These Nodules are then automatically refined into Aurylene Crystals upon leaving the Etchspace Salvage.
Aurylene Crystals can be used to reroll and refresh Focus Commissions, and can also be turn-in requirements for Commissions. Additionally, players get one Operation Metric per converted Aurylene Crystal, so try to get a lot of them if you have space in your inventory!

When exploring, you will find storage points that, when interacted with, will drop items that you can turn in to complete Commissions. It is important to note that each type of storage point will only contain a specific type of item. Packages will always drop Classified items, Instrumet Safes will always contain Gold Statuettes, and Auto-Vendors will always provide Specimens.
Since interacting with a storage point will increase your Derangement, try to only open the necessary storage points to maximize your loot. For example, if you only need Gold Statuettes, avoid other storage points and focus only on opening Instrument Safes.

While exploring the Etchspace Salvage, you will find chests scattered throughout the map. These chests contain varying amounts of Oroberyl, so try to collect all of them while exploring.

Ziplines can be found at fixed locations in Etchspace Salvage. Ziplines will appear as pillars of light at first, and are unlocked simply by approaching them during exploration.
Once unlocked, these ziplines can create shortcuts between zones or layers, allowing players to save time and Derangement progress during the run.

Additionally, ropes can be unlocked within Aberrant Zones to create shortcuts between the zone's layers or floors. Unlock these rope shortcuts as well to save time and Derangement in further runs.

When exploring the Etchspace Salvage, try to complete the Exploration Commissions, as they unlock permanent buffs when exploring. These buffs include increased Derangement Limits, better Nodule to Aurylene Crystal conversion rates, and more.

Key Commissions are the main source of progression in the Etchspace Salvage, pushing the story forward and unlocking more areas that you can explore. As such, try to complete them as soon as possible, as this not only continues the story, but also gives you access to higher rarity turn-in items for later Exploration Commissions.
Additionally, completing all of the Key Commissions up to Aberrant Zone 3 will unlock Focus Commissions.

Focus Commissions are weekly quests that provide a large amount of Operation Metrics. These are similar to the Exploration Commissions, in that you need to collect and submit items that you can find while exploring the Etchspace Salvage.

When doing Focus Commissions, you can spend Aurylene Crystals to either reroll your current commissions, or add new commissions to your list.
Rerolling will replace your currently selected commission, allowing you to change the required turn-in items. Adding new commissions, on the other hand, allows you to get more commissions ahead of the weekly reset.
It is important to note, however, that the Aurylene Crystal cost increases with each reroll or added commission. Additionally, you can only have a maximum of four Focus Commissions active at any given time.
You unlock Focus Commissions once you finish all of the currently available Key Commissions (up to Aberrant Zone 3). Upon finishing all Key Commissions, enter the Etchspace Salvage again to find the new Focus Commissions tab.
| Items | Metrics Milestone |
|---|---|
| 50 | |
| 300 | |
| 1200 | |
| 2500 | |
| 5000 | |
| 10000 | |
| 20000 | |
| 30000 | |
| 30000 | |
| 40000 |
Completing and extracting your runs will reward you with Operations Metrics that basically serve to fill the Metrics bar in the rewards section of this mode.
You get one Operation Metric per extracted Aurylene Crystal, as well as a 5000 Operation Metrics reward per completed Focus Commission.

You must first reach Authority Level 25 and complete the Main Quest up to Chapter 1 - Process 3 to unlock Etchspace Salvage. Level up quickly by doing Daily Tasks, spending Sanity with Protocol Spaces and progressing parts of your Regional Development.

You will then unlock the Etchspace Salvage Quest, available as a priority mission in the quest menu. You will be transported back to the OMV Dijiang in this quest and encounter Aquito and a portal that you can interact wth to be taught about Etchspace Salvage's mechanics.
