Unlike other similar gacha games of the same genre with Arknights: Endfield, all of the stats for each gear are fixed and their values or attributes do not change when crafted.
This means that you won't have to worry about grinding for the same gear piece over and over again to get the best stats.

A gear's level will ultimately depend on its rarity, with higher-rarity gear having a higher level. The higher the level of the gear, the better the attribute increases they provide for the wearer.

All of the equippable gears in the game will have Defense as their Primary Attribute. Gear pieces also come with additional attribute bonuses for Strength, Agility, Intellect, and Will.
What attributes you get will depend on the gear itself and cannot be changed, nor can their values be increased.

Aside from the primary and secondary attribute bonuses, some gear will also come with bonus Trait stats. These bonus stats are also fixed on the gear, and can be defensive or offensive in nature.

Equipping three pieces of gear from the same Gear Set will activate its Set Bonus effect, and enhance your Operator’s combat proficiency by enabling additional stats and skills.
Aim to activate these Set Bonuses as often as possible for a significant boost in power!

To pick what Gear and Gear Sets to use on a character, pay attention to their Main Attribute and team role. Aim to both increase the main attribute, and to activate Gear Set effects that complement the character's kit and role to maximize their combat performance.

In the early stages of the game, recipes for gear can be unlocked as rewards from increasing your Authority Level by progressing through completing quests and exploring the world.
Other sources of gear recipes will be added as soon as they are found in-game, so please stay tuned!

There are also several Gear Template Crates scattered across Talos-II, which can be opened to claim a set of recipes for gear. These are marked on the map for easier location.
There will be a button you can press or click called Gear Assembly in the main menu. Click on that to bring up its menu, and you should be able to see a list of Gears you can craft.
Simply find one that you want for your character and hit the Craft button on the bottom right to start crafting. Do note that you'll need the necessary materials to craft the gear.

To be able to craft gears, you will have to have the necessary materials for you to craft them. These materials can be procured in any of the main AIC or Sub-PAC areas using the correct facilities.
The material required to craft the gear will depend on the rarity and level of the gear, in addition to some Stock Bills.
