Step Walkthrough

Step 1
At the beginning, follow the path to the right. There should be various long-ears running out to the cave exit.

Once outside, jump down to a lower area where the bridge connects to the other side.

Cross the bridge after jumping down, and follow down the path to the right.

Step 4
Follow the glowing footprints of the Long-ears, until you reach a corner that looks like a dead end under a platform. Make a turn to the right, and go up the stairs.

Step 5
Once you reach the top, you can see three switches powering three gates to progress. Use the Barrel of Originium to make explosives and throw them at three switches scattered around to switch off the barriers.

Go past the deactivated barrier, and follow the path to the left that is not blocked by a destructible wall. There is another barrier that can be switched off by hitting its power source.

After deactivating the first barrier, go up the stairs to the top. Another Barrel of Originium can be found; use it to fire a bomb at a switch that is beyond the active barrier.

Go down the stairs, switch off the red barrier by a nearby switch. Afterwards, use the same Barrel of Originium from earlier to make a bomb and destroy the wall.

Rappel up the wall using the rope inside, and interact with the nearby switch to turn off the barrier.

Follow the path of the Long-ear footprints to the gate that opens on the right. Once you reach where the Long-ears are, this challenge is complete and you can use the nearby portal to exit the Protocol Space!

Location of All Long-ear Homes

Home 1
The first Long-ear home can be found immediately after exiting the first cave, on the right side of the exit.

Home 2
The second location is hidden behind a destructible wall. Make use of the nearby Barrel of Originium to throw a bomb at it to get the Long-ear home.

The third location is after the three barriers in Step 5. It is on the right just down the stairs.

Home 4
The fourth home can be found after doing the puzzle in Step 7. It is found just down the stairs, beside the red barrier.

Home 5
The fifth location is hidden inside a cave deviating from the main route. It can be found to the left in Step 3, but it can be approached by going past the platform up the first flight of stairs in Step 4.

Home 6
The sixth and final location is the "finish line" where the challenge ends. Once you get here, you can see how many of the Long-ears have come home successfully.

the 5th home description isn't helpful at all, why even say that? Anyway, it's on the left path on step 5, the right path would be the one you see in the photo (barriers)
