Laevatain Builds

Laevatain's best builds focus on increasing her personal damage as a hypercarry. Her endgame build is the Hot Work set with the Forgeborn Scathe weapon for its Heat DMG and Intellect bonuses, while her early game build focuses on increasing her Arts DMG using the Mordvolt Insulation set and the Fortmaker weapon.

The Mordvolt Insulation set increases Laevatain's primary attribute, Intellect, and increases her Arts DMG dealt. Fortmaker can increase Laevatain's Intellect and ATK via its weapon skills as well, with Wave Tide available as a weaker alternative.

Alternatively, players can replace the LYNX Slab with a second Hot Work Pyrometer and equip the Redeemer Armor instead to trade a little bit of her damage for a boost in Ultimate Gain.

How to Play Laevatain

As a Controlled Operator

As Laevatain, you'll want to get 4 Melting Flame stacks by absorbing Heat Infliction with Final Strike before casting Battle Skill to deal higher damage and charge her Ultimate.

You get the most damage by using her talents in this order:

Absorb Heat Infliction With Final Strike

Melting Flame Stacks

Performing a Final Strike on enemies with Heat Infliction absorbs it and grants Laevatain a Melting Flame stack.

Note that Laevatain can only apply Heat Infliction in her Ultimate. Heat Infliction will mostly come from Laevatain's allies, like Wulfgard, to generate these stacks, as well as her Combo Skill.

Cast Battle Skill at 4 Melting Flame Stacks

At 4 Melting Flame stacks, Laevatain's Battle Skill is enhanced, performing an additional hit and granting an extra 100 Ultimate Gain.

The additional hit is the highest single instance of damage in Laevatain's kit, and is the primary way to charge her Ultimate.

Deal Massive Damage with Ultimate

Laevatain's Ultimate forces her to be the controlled operator, significantly increasing the damage and range of her basic attacks. This is Laevatain's main source of DPS, and what allows her to excel as a hypercarry.

During Ultimate, Laevatain can apply Heat Infliction on the third basic attack hit, which she consumes soon after, as the next attack is a Final Strike, adding a stack of Melting Flame.

Laevatain can perform her enhanced Battle Skill in Ultimate as well, dealing significantly higher damage.

Who is Laevatain? (Lore)

Operator Directly Under the Endministrator

Laevatain serves directly under the Endministrator as per the agreement between Rhodes Island and Endfield Industries.

Laevatain had a history of roaming the world alone, which had molded her skills in solo combat, leading her peers to perceive Laevatain as someone taciturn or aloof. This is untrue as Laevatain is sociable in reality with an earnest nature to boot.

While Laevatain's theme and design often depict fire and forge, her profile reveals that she has a strong penchant for ice cream.

Surtr's Reconvener

Surtr in Arknights

Surtr as seen in Arknights

Laevatain is the reconvener of Surtr, an Operator in Rhodes Island. While she inherited Surtr's memories, they are not the same person.

This is further expanded in her story quest, Let Fire Consume the Ashen Past, where she explores her identity as a reconvener.
