The Bonekrusher warriors eviscerated the weak and stood atop the platform with their axe and ballista raised. Defeat them and lay both ancient suffering and newfound ambition in the dust.

Ballista and Axe Stage 3 Mechanics

Agony When both elites are on the field, they will share the DMG they take. Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

A Physical team with the Endministrator as the main DPS can be used to beat Umbral Monument Stage 3, taking advantage of the team's naturally high Stagger due to the nature of Physical statuses.

This team can enable multiple Stagger windows which are useful at all phases of the stage in both Normal and Agony mode.

As an F2P option, a team of Endmin, Akekuri, Chen, and Ardelia can clear this stage as well. This team has high stagger to generate multiple Staggered windows in Phase 1 and Phase 2, and has some AoE via Endmin's and Chen's Ultimates to deal with Phase 3.

Note that this team requires proper positioning during Phase 3. Ensure that both Elites are always next to each other when casting their Ultimates, along with Endmin's Crush procs via their Battle Skill.

Da Pan can replace Endmin as the DPS in the Physical team. His Ultimate can reach 2 stacks when both Elites are hit, allowing more Crush procs during the fight.

How to Beat Ballista and Axe Stage 3

  1. Bait the Arrows Away From the First Elite
  2. Avoid the Executioner's Grab
  3. Interrupt the Ballista's Arrow Rain
  4. Ensure that Both Elites are Within Sight
  5. Prioritize the Ballista During Phase 3

Bait the Arrows Away From the First Elite

Before the first elite jumps onto the stage, move away from the center to bait the Ballista's arrows away from the thick of combat.

These arrows remain on the ground and deal damage over time as well, so keep an eye out during the battle against the Executioner.

Avoid the Executioner's Grab

When the Executioner raises its arm, move away from it to avoid its grab attack. If players cannot move away in time, ensure to perform a dodge once the Executioner's eyes flash red.

Interrupt the Grab Attack

When the Executioner grabs hold of an ally, prioritize interrupting it with a Battle Skill, Combo Skill, or Ultimate. This allows the ally to escape the attack, in addition to progressing the Executioner's Stagger bar.

Interrupt the Ballista's Arrow Rain

Once the Ballista starts firing from above and a red circle appears around it, interrupt its casting with a Battle Skill, Combo Skill, or Ultimate to prevent its arrow rain skill. This move creates a field that deals damage over time for a duration, limiting the field and affecting positioning.

This is especially important during Phase 3, as players will need to keep track of both the Executioner's and the Ballista's movements.

Ensure that Both Elites are Within Sight During Phase 3

During Phase 3, ensure that both the Ballista and Executioner are within sight during the battle. Often, one of these elites will attack from off-screen, interrupting your combos, rotation, and damaging your team.

Prioritize the Ballista During Phase 3

Prioritize the Ballista

Prioritize attacking the Ballista while keeping the Executioner within your field of vision during Phase 3. The Executioner can perform a jump attack when far away, automatically positioning themself near the Ballista.

Once both Elites are next to each other, players can perform their AoE skills to hit them both and chunk away at their shared HP pool.

Additionally, this positioning ensures that the Ballista is always within sight when it casts its arrow rain skill, readying the team to interrupt its casting.
