Once you get access to Ferrium Ore, prioritize crafting Ferrium Components, which you can use to craft mid-game gear for Valley IV. Ferrium Gear will be Level 36 and Blue Rarity, so make sure you've unlocked Outfitting I on your Operators so they can equip them.
Once you unlock more Ferrium Ore nodes on the map, try to make multiple copies of this production line to speed up the production process, allowing you to get your gear faster.

To start crafting Buck Capsule B, set up two production lines that produce Ferrium Bottles using Refining and Moulding Units. Afterward, make a production line for Buckflower Powder using a Shredding Unit. Finally, combine the output of all the production lines into the Filling Unit. Make sure that two of the Shredding Unit's outputs are connected to the filling unit.
The Buck Capsule B is the preferred Trade Good when the Refugee Camp Outpost hits level 2, so make sure to trade these to the Refugee Camp for increased Valley Stock Bills!

As with the Buck Capsule C factory in the early game, you will need a Buckflower Infinite Loop for your Buck Capsule B production line. As you will be expanding your factories, we recommend a stacking layout that you can easily copy and build based on your needs.
The layout shown above is very compact, and does not need an input from your PAC or from a Depot. Because of this, you can build it in a corner of your AIC, freeing up space for other production lines.

Once you hit the mid-game, it is recommended to switch to LC Valley Batteries on your Thermal Banks. This produces more power than using Originium Ore, and is more efficient in the long run.
You can create LC Valley Batteries by combining Amethyst Parts and Originium Powder in a Packaging Unit. If you want to maximize your power output, you can output the batteries to up to four Thermal Banks per Packaging Unit.

You can also use SC Valley Batteries, which can provide almost twice the power as LC Valley Batteries. This is only recommended if you have extra Ferrium Ore to spare without affecting your Ferrium Component and Buck Capsule B production lines.

Once you reach the mid-game in Valley IV, change priorities to the Ferrium Component, Buck Capsule B, and LC Valley Battery.
The Ferrium Component is used to craft Level 36 Blue Rarity Gear, while the LC Valley Battery will power your Thermal Banks. The Buck Capsule B will provide increased healing, and is also the preferred Outpost trade good alongside the LC Valley Battery.

You can also craft Industrial Explosives during the mid-game, as these can help you during exploration. Instead of making it a permanent fixture, you can choose to just create a large amount of Industrial Explosives, then remove the production line once you have enough.
The mid-game spans from the end of the early game at around Authority Level 18 until you are able to grind Cryston at Authority Level 34. Be sure to evolve together with your factory to get stronger items and gear!

Every time you arrive in a new area, make sure to place Electric Mining Rigs on all of the resource nodes you pass by. Even if you won't immediately use them, having the Electric Mining Rigs set up will save you time since you no longer need to backtrack.
Note that Ferrium Ores requires Electric Mining Rig Mk II to harvest, so unlock that with the proper node in the AIC Plan.
What is Mining Purity and How to Increase It

By this time, you should be far enough in the story to have finished the AIC Steward mission, which unlocks the AIC Steward found near your PAC and Sub-PAC Hubs. Spend your Stock Bills to expand your factory and get the capability to use distribution buses. The first expansion is enough for the mid-game, but be sure to unlock more Buses to enable the usage of depots.
You can get the needed Stock Bills by doing trading with Outposts, by buying and selling Elastic Goods, or by performing Depot Node deliveries.

During the mid-game, you will gain access to the Protocol Stash and Depot Bus. These allow you to create production lines without relying on the input and output ports of your PAC. Make sure to take advantage of these features to optimize your production lines.

LC Valley Batteries provide more power per Originium used compared to Originium Ore, so make sure to use LC Valley Batteries to power your Thermal Banks once you reach the mid-game.
Having around four to eight Thermal Banks that use LC Valley Batteries should provide enough power to get you through the mid-game. If you decide to use SC Valley Batteries instead, you will need half the amount of Thermal Banks.
