Tainted Waters is an Exploration Mission found in Wuling in Arknights: Endfield 1.0. Check out how to lower the water level with the control valve, how to set up the first and second devices, how to unlock this mission, its walkthrough, and all its rewards in this guide!

You can unlock Tainted Waters after completing The Way of Water Chapter 2 - Process 2 quest line. Finish the final mission in the quest line to see the exploration mission in the map.

Speak to Jing Hong in Wuling City
You can start the Tainted Waters mission by speaking to Jing Hong in Wuling City. He can be found south of Fangxing Avenue.
Talk to Li Heng
Go to Li Heng and talk to him nearby. He tells you to start with the canals under Fangxing Avenue and near the Tianshi Bureau Academy.
Investigate the Canal Near Fangxing Avenue
Head up the stairs behind Li Heng and turn right to reach the canal near Fangxing Avenue. You see that there might be something under the water.
Lower the Water Level with the Control Valve
Interact with the control valve to lower the water level. You see a device on a platform as the water recedes.
Investigate the Strange Device
Head down the ramp to investigate the device. Jump on the lily pad and stand on the pressure switch to move the platform near the device. Jump back on the lily pads until you reach the device.
Use the Water Level Control Valve Again
You need to check deeper levels of the area. Head back up the ramp and interact with the control valve to lower the water levels more.
Investigate the Second Device
There is another device as the water level lowers. Head down the ramp and jump on the lily pads to get to the device.
Investigate the Canal Near the Tianshi Bureau Academy
Head southwest of the Tianshi Bureau Academy to investigate the canal there. Interact with the control valve to lower the water levels.
Pick Up the Strange Device
To reach the device at the other side, step on the pressure switch until all five platforms make a diagonal path towards the device. Pick up the strange device and head back to Li Heng.
Hand the Device to Li Heng
Go back to Li Heng to hand him the device. He finally believes that there is filth in the water and tells you that the canal near HS.Swords should be investigated as well.
Lower the Water Level with the Control Valve
At Li Heng's behest, head to the Canal East of HS. Swords and lower the water level with the control valve again by interacting with the nearby control mechanisms, similar with the ones you've encountered in Fangxing Avenue.

| 1 |  You need to interact with two control valves. For the first valve, step on the pressure switch until a path is formed towards the valve. Interact with the valve to lower the water level. |
| 2 |  Step on the next pressure switch to make a path towards the second control valve. Interact with the valve to further lower the water. |
Set Up the First Device
With the water level lowered, you must now set up Li Heng's devices at the canal. Complete the pressure switch puzzles to reach the area and set up the first device.
How to Set Up the First Device

| 1 |  Take the rope down to a lower platform. Step on the pressure switch to make a stair-like path with the platforms. |
| 2 |  Jump up the platforms to reach the top. Set up the device at the top and proceed to go to the second location. |
Set Up the Second Device
After the first device, head to the other side of the canal to set up the second device. Complete more pressure switch puzzles with crates to reach the setup area.
How to Set Up the Second Device

| 1 |  Head back and jump across the area with boxes near a pressure switch. Destroy the boxes and drop the hidden crate on top of the pressure switch. |
| 2 |  Ride the moving platform to reach the next area. Step on the pressure switch to lower a platform and reach the area for the second device. |
| 3 |  Cross the platform and interact with the switch to open the door. Activate the crate and place on top of the previous pressure switch. |
| 4 |  Ride the platform to rise up to the second location. Set up the second device near the ledge. |
Leave This Place
Open the door behind you by interacting with the switch. Head inside to find an elevator. Ride the elevator out of the place and meet with Li Heng.
Talk to Li Heng
After taking the elevator up, talk to Li Heng who is just outside the place. He scans the area to find more prototypes in the canal.
Use the Water Level Control Valve
Beside Li Heng, activate the control valve to raise the water level. Once the water levels are back to normal, the mission will be completed.
