What Are Clogged Facilities?
Facilities That Can't Release Items
A facility is considered clogged if its output cache is full. That is, if it can no longer release its crafted items.
This can happen if the next facility's input is full, there is no output conveyor belt, or the next facility has an invalid item preventing it from taking the correct one.
How to Fix Clogged Facilities
Remove Some of the Facility's Contents
The first step in trying to solve a clogged facility is to remove some of its contents, both from the input and output caches. This should allow the facility to start taking in and producing items again.
Check the Conveyor Belt Connections
If the facility still gets clogged after removing its contents multiple times, you can also check its conveyor belt connections. Conveyor belts can clog facilities if they are not connected to an input port, lead to the wrong facility, or have different items in the same conveyor belt.
When this happens, try to rearrange the conveyor belts, making sure they do not go to the wrong locations, and that there is only one item type in the conveyor belt. Once the conveyor belts are fixed, remove some items from the facility to make sure it is running smoothly again.
Use More Output Channels
Some items can produce multiple items when passed through certain facilities. An example of this is the Sandleaf, which transforms into two Sandleaf Powder when passed through a Shredding Unit. This can cause clogging if you are using only one output channel, as the facility will be making things faster than it can transfer out.
When this happens, try to use more output channels, as this can allow the facility to smoothly transfer its contents. Once you attach more output channels, remove some items from the facility to check if the problem is fixed.
