During the Prologue, as you make your way across a graveyard, you can see Perlica tend to a very specific gravestone among the many there.
Interacting with the tombstone will reveal a list of names listed. They are all Operators from the original Arknights; some were playable characters, while others were NPCs important to the story.

In a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, during the flashback sequence just before the Endministrator wakes up, there is a figure that can be seen wearing a hooded jacket, and seems to be holding a staff.
While the top of their head is blocked off, fans of the original Arknights will immediately recognize the silhouette as Amiya. The only thing that could have confirmed it being her would be her trademark ears.

Whenever you log in to Arknights: Endfield, the loading screen shows trivia about Talos-II. One of the possible trivia that can show up will mention Rhodes Island.
Rhodes Island is the faction led by the protagonist of the original Arknights, known as the Doctor. Notable Operators include Amiya, Kal'tsit, Theresa, Ch'en the Holungday and Surtr.

After inputting your chosen name for the Endministrator, and after the cutscene where they finally wake up from stasis, this quote from Kal'tsit will appear.
This is a direct quote said by Kal'tsit herself, during Chapter 8 of the original Arknights story.

Warfarin appears in Arknights: Endfield as the current leader of the Talos-II branch of Rhodes Islands as mentioned in the Reconveners Nexus FIle. She has yet to appear in-game but it is speculated that she is the same Warfarin from the original game.
Note that the organization Rhodes Island itself is the prominent leading faction of the first game, and Endfield directly coordinates with Rhodes for SAR operatiions in Talos-II.

During the Main Mission chapter Secure Sanctuary, you aid Kanja in finding a cure for her little sister Ginny, who is happening to be suffering from Oripathy; an infection that also existed in the original Arknights, and was far more prevalent back then.
It can infect anyone just from having contact with any source of Originium, which is the same material powering Endfield Industries. This was the very disease that Rhodes Island was trying to combat in the past, though by the time in Endfield Oripathy treatment seems to have advanced significantly.

A statue that looks eerily similar, if not a direct hook to Patriot, can be interacted with by the Endministrator directly during the game's prologue. The statue's arms collapses, allowing the Endmin to proceed through the area.
Of note is that Patriot served as one of the antagonists in the original game's story. Endmin comments on how even the statue has now decided to help them, acting as if they have history with the character.

Arknights: Endfield pays potential homages to the character of Theresa from the original Arknights, including the symbolistic bed of white flowers found at the prologue, which is very reminiscent of events related to Theresa's story in the original game.
The shadowy figure at the start that looks like Perlica comments on the bed of flowers and how it leaves a legacy of someone who carried too many burdens.

It has been noticed that the supposed Priestess's claw appears on the tutorial sections in the game and looks similar to the one seen in the original game as part of its regular gameplay.

After the Morale Booster Side quest, you can use the phonograph in The Hub to play music. Choosing Retro Music will play the Science theme, which thematically fits, as it plays when you view the Base function in the OG Arknights.

※ Note that not every returning character is officially confirmed to be a Reconvener and others only reference minor details of OG characters.
Several characters in the game have similar appearances to original Arknights characters, with the game and the community referring to some of these characters as Reconveners.
While information on the Reconveners remain vague and mostly only referenced on background lore, they do canonically exist in Talos-II.

Originium is noted as the passive antagonistic force that causes Oripathy in the original time of the OG Arknights. The crystal has transitioned to Endfield, being a force of positive growth for the planet after an unknown amount of time.
Whether there will be a plot twist about the risk of bringing Originium to Talos-II or will it be played straight is yet to be known.
