Arknights: Endfield features a gigantic world called Talos-II with diverse regions like Wuling and Valley IV. However, it is not exactly an open world despite looking like one. Read on to learn what makes the world big in Arknights: Endfield here!
List of Contents

Arknights: Endfield is not an open-world game, compared to games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves.
Rather, Talos-II is a semi-open world that allows players to explore the regions of the world with some restrictions. In this regard, it is much closer to games like Honkai Star Rail and Duet Night Abyss.

The definition of an Open World is that players are able to go between points from one faraway area to another seamlessly in one gigantic map. Though the game does boast quite a large map, there are certain restrictions that players cannot bypass at all.

While you can explore the worlds and cities by running around, there are areas that cannot be viewed or entered in multiple ways. Most of these areas have invisible walls and a lot of places with doors or barricades that cannot be entered.
However, Arknights: Endfield does make up for it through sheer scale and size of its regional maps. The exploration mechanics are tailored around their size, which includes the Zipline Towers you can set up to your preference all across a region for faster travel!

A true Open World allows players to explore a vast map that has no restrictions between two points. The only thing that can stop exploration is in a player's creativity on how to get to harder-to-reach areas.
The maps in Arknights: Endfield does not meet that requirement, as there are restrictions around the maps despite its size like invisible walls and impassable terrain.
In Open World games, players should have the power to go between two regions seamlessly without any loading transitions needed. This is not quite the case for Arknights: Endfield, as each region's map is disjointed enough that it needs a loading screen to travel between two regions, like the Dijiang and Valley IV.
