Once you reach Chapter 5 of the main story and after you have completed the unlock conditions mentioned above, you will see a a ? over Namba Mound Camp in the Fornis Region if you have Ino in your party. Head to the ? and watch a short cutscene to accept the quest.
After accepting the quest, head to the quest marker in Engardo Pass Camp where you will trigger another cutscene. Ino will talk to her friend Paroro about the whereabouts of a Nopon Eater.
Another quest marker will appear to the north of the Pentalas Region. Head over to this area to confront the Nopon Eater.
Upon arriving at the quest marker, you will see a giant bird harassing a group of Nopon. Start battle with the giant bird and lower its health. Before you can totally defeat the Nopon Eater however, it will fly away.
After another cutscene, you will need to head back to the Engardo Pass Camp where you will meet up with Sunny, the Nopon who first told you of the Nopon Eater.
Talk to Sunny after the cutscene to see a list of required items. Each item will fill up the gauge at the top of the screen by a certain number of percentage points. You'll need to completely fill up the gauge to 100% to move on to the next objective.
Item | Percentage Filled |
---|---|
Panda Pansy | +15% |
Suite Pea | +15% |
Anarchy Orchid | +5% |
Chrysanthemany | +10% |
Black Iris | +10% |
Shiny Rose | +5% |
Mosaic Petal | +10% |
Honking Shrub | +15% |
After filling up the gauge, Sunny will give you an OP Pollen Orb that will help you defeat the Nopon Eater. Head to the Cadensia Region and find the Nopon Eater near Seaspray Lookout across the rope.
Once you confront the Nopon Eater, you will need to battle it once again. After reaching half-health, Ino will throw the OP Pollen Orb at the bird during a cutscene. This resets its health, and you'll need to battle it again until it is defeated.
After beating the Nopon Eater and watching the final cutscene, the quest is complete.
