An official announcement was made in the Community Discord Server stating that the developers are currently looking into an issue causing players to experience poor performance and connection issues with Official Servers in the North America region.
No date or time has been given yet regarding a potential fix, but playing on other servers or those playing in single player should be unaffected by this issue.
After the 0.2.0.6 update, a fix for players who have been experiencing timeout issued when playing on dedicated servers has been released. Players are adviced to update their servers if they are unable to connect.
Do note that this does not affect other servers or those playing in single player.
Palworld's servers should currently be functioning normally. With the recent update to the multiplayer infrastructure, playing with others online should now have less issues.
Palworld's Official X account announced that they will be making changes to their multiplayer system infrastructure on February 6, at 10:00 AM PST. This is to help accommodate the increasing number of players that are playing in multiplayer.
Palworld also appears to be taking steps to prevent cheating on official Palworld servers that may also be implemented at this time.
Because of these server fixes, those who are playing Online Co-op and Server based gameplay may experience connection problems during the server maintenance time.
Palworld players playing solo are not affected by the outages, as these are server-side issues affecting multiplayer. All save data should also be intact.

Palworld recommends restarting the game for both the multiplayer host and the player clients experiencing connection problems.
