How to Get Unbound

Use Allies to Free Captured Character

Footage used here is from Final Fantasy 7: Remake.

To get the character unbound, you can command or switch to other allies and have them attack the enemy. The enemy will let go of the bound character after it takes a significant amount of damage.

Some enemies may require you to attack a certain body part to let go of the character.

Unlocks the Unfettered Friendship Trophy

Bronze	Unfettered Friendship
Bronze	Free a bound ally.

Getting a character unbound the first time will reward you with the Unfettered Friendship trophy.

Bound is a state where a character cannot move due to being incapacitated by the enemy. A character is bound if their name is highlighted in orange text.
