First Encountered in Chapter 11

The party will first meet Vincent in Shinra Manor during Chapter 11: The Long Shadow of Shinra. Somewhere during the conversation, Vincent will ask them who their foe is. Your answer here will not affect future events aside from the following dialogue lines.

Joins as a Companion but Not Playable

Later on in the chapter as you return to Cid and the Tiny Bronco, Vincent will appear again and decide to join you on your next destination. However, he will only be a story companion and not an actual party member.
