1. Research Mining III 2. Use Electric Mining Rig Mk II |
Research Mining III
First, research the Mining III node under the Resourcing tree in the Basic AIC Plan III section to unlock Electric Mining Rigs Mk II. Using these mining rigs are the only way to mine Ferrium Ore, as other rigs are unable to extract it.
Use Electric Mining Rig Mk II to Mine Ferrium Ore
Once you’ve unlocked the Electric Mining Rig Mk II, locate a Ferrium Ore Mineral Bed. The earliest Ferrium Ore Mineral Beds can be found in Originium Science Park after progressing through the Cross the Science Park Main Mission. Although, you may need to Power Originium Science Park first in order to do so.
Simply place the mining rig on the Mineral Bed to begin the Ferrium Ore mining process.

Powered Mining Rigs Automatically Transport Ferrium Ore
Be sure to place Electric Pylons connected to a Relay Tower within range of the mining rig to power it and fully automate the Ferrium Ore mining process. Once active, Ferrium Ore will be automatically transported to the Depot for collection until it reaches maximum capacity.
