Best Dialogue Choices

You can increase Cloud's friendship level with Red XIII by choosing the best dialogue options on certain points of the story.

Answering with the most positive reply significantly increases their friendship level while a bad reply decreases it.

Chapter 2 (Kalm Village)

During Chapter 2 in Kalm Village, Red XIII is located on the southwest area of Kalm Village.

The dialogue options will become available once you are able to roam around Kalm Village.

Chapter 4 (Sea Dragon Square)

During Chapter 4 in Sea Dragon Square, Red XIII will be located inside his room at the Inn.

The dialogue options will become available at the inn after defeating the Terror of the Deep.

Chapter 6 (Costa del Sol)

After defeating the Grasptropod in Chapter 6, you can talk with your allies at the beach before leaving.

Chapter 9 (Gongaga Village)

Red XIII will ask you to guess which of the three mushrooms are the Gongaga Mushrooms in Chapter 9. Choose The Right Patch for the best answer.

Chapter 10 (Cosmo Canyon)

The dialogue choices in Chapter 10 appear during the bonfire ceremony. All party members are gathered together in one area.

Make sure to talk to everyone first before speaking with Aerith. You will receive a "Ceremony preparations are underway." if you talk to her first before talking to all of the party members.

Chapter 11 (Nibelheim)

Using a Synergy Skill for the first time with Red XIII and Cloud also give a small boost to his friendship level. Subsequent uses of the same Synergy Skill won't have anymore effect.

Red XIII will only be available as a Golden Saucer Date if you have the highest friendship level with him.
