Run Wild is a minigame available in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth). Read on to learn how to unlock Run Wild, how to play, tips to complete Rank III, and rewards.
List of Contents
Rank | Placement | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Rank I | 2nd | ・ Companion Card: Aerith ・ Ether x2 |
Rank II | 1st - Tied | ・Emerald x1 |
Rank III | 1st | ・Silver Collar x1 |
You can obtain Aerith's Companion card by winning a game of Run Wild or by at least placing second. With this card, you can exchange it for one of Aerith's swimsuits in Chapter 6.
Aerith has two swimsuits, so if you want to unlock the other one, make sure to get her other companion card by playing the Cactuar Caper minigame.
The goal of Run Wild is to make sure you have the most points remaining at the end of the 3-minute time period. As such, do everything you can to block your competitors from scoring goals and lowering your points.
This minigame can be frantic especially as the timer gets closer to 0, so do not hesitate to shoot for goals whenever you see an opening. No matter how small or unlikely the shoot, there is no harm in still trying to shoot.
There is a small opening that can be utilized by players after a goal, when the ball respawns in the middle of the field. Use this to your advantage and go aggressive in order to score unexpected goals!
During the last stretch of the minigame, a team can have two things happen to them at random: either they are running wild, or they are taking a breather.
The team that is running wild will have a visual cue of electricity coating them, and they tend to be more aggressive in scoring goals. Be ready to go on the defensive when this happens.
If a team is taking a breather, they can be seen moving slower than usual, and will often leave their goal wide open. Use this to your advantage and score some easy goals while one of the teams are resting.
Action | Description |
---|---|
Dash | Red XIII swiftly moves forward. |
Jump | Red XIII jumps vertically. |
Shoot | Shoots the ball in a forward motion. |
Lob Shot | Shoots the ball in an upward motion. |
Each Round of Run Wild lasts for 3 minutes, and it is a free-for-all between four teams.
As Red XIII, you must claim the ball as the Red Team and shoot it at the opponents' goals to lower their score, while making sure your own points remain untouched.
The team that has the most points at the end of the round is the winner!
After the first minute passes, a second ball will drop onto the field, making the game more frantic as now you have to deal with two balls instead of just one.
