The Classified Intel Report: Heavy Lies the Crown can be unlocked by first going to any four of the six Expedition Intel Reports in the Corel Region and analyzing the Lifesprings there.

Do note that even if you arrive in Corel as soon as Chapter 6, you'll only be able to access the Tonberry King's location and majority of the Lifesprings once you reach Chapter 9.

Deal Enough Damage After Dodging Its Melee Attacks Steal Its Crown to Keep It in Pressure

Inflicting enough damage when its attacks miss will pressure it. When pressured, it will drop its Pristine Crown, leaving the item vulnerable to being stolen. Its special attack renderes the target incapacitated. and unable to be revived.

Use Ranged Characters for a Safer Fight

By using a ranged character, like Yuffie and Aerith, and staying at the edge of the arena, you can manipulate the Tonberry King's AI to only use Rancor, Doom and Gloom, Hopping Mad, and Call for Friends which are all ranged attacks with the exception of Call for Friends which summons a Tonberry.

Do note that using a ranged character will make this fight slower since you won't be able to dodge its melee attacks to put it under pressure, since it never uses them, but it will also make the fight safer since you'll be avoiding its other terrifying moves.

Deal with the Regular Tonberries First

During the fight, the Tonberry King will use Call for Friends and summon regular Tonberries to aid it. Make sure that you take care of them first since they're harder to see in the heat of battle and they can also kill you in one hit with Chef's Knife.

Steal Its Crown

If you are within range to dodge its melee attacks and you deal enough damage to it after dodging, it will eventually drops its crown and get pressured. When this happens, you will now be able to steal the Pristine Crown and keep it under constant pressure.

Remember to have a Steal Materia equipped or else you won't be able to use the Steal command on the crown.

Yuffie's Range Manipulates the Boss' AI

By having Yuffie stay at the edge of the arena and hit the Tonberry King with her ranged attacks, the boss will never use its quick and deadly melee attacks.

Make sure that you're still dodging its other attacks because you're still susceptible to getting one shot by a Doom and Gloom or Chef's Knife.

Tifa's the Only Melee Character

Tifa will be the only character within melee range of the Tonberry King so that it will stay in the center by being drawn towards her whenever it's not attacking.

Also, Tifa is the best character to use to apply pressure on the Tonberry King thanks to her being able to swiftly dodge its attacks and deal a lot of damage in return.

Aerith Will Primarily Cast Reraise and Arise

In case an ally goes down, Aerith's there to cast revival spells like Reraise and Arise. Also, whenever you're safe to do so, she can also cast Haste to offset the Slow applied by Royal Treatment.

Summon:	Gilgamesh

Steal is essential to get steal the Pristine Crown and pressure the Tonberry King while Magic Focus linked to Comet will be your primary damage source outside of Banishment and Purification, but you can also replace Comet with any other offensive spell of your choice.

ATB Boost and Stagger are used to give Yuffie a boost to her ATB so that she can continue to spam commands while ATB Assist is great for charging up Tifa and Aerith's ATBs without you needing to swap to them.

For the flexibles slots, HP, MP, Magic and Luck Up are all generally good stat increases while Assess is useful to check for the boss' stats. Lastly, Prayer is useful in case you need to quickly heal the party.

Finally, Gilgamesh is used to give Yuffie a balanced boost to her Attack and Magic while also giving a slight boost to her HP and MP.

ATB Stagger, Boost, and Skill Master are used so that Tifa can spam her abilities as much as possible as soon as the Tonberry King gets staggered.

Magnify linked to Healing is used in case no one else has ATB Chagres to heal the party, while Disempowerment and Enervation will debuff the boss and make the fight more manageable.

For the flexible slots, HP, Luck, and Strength Up are all generally good stat increases while Chakra will heal Tifa in a pinch without having to use MP.

Finally, Odin is used because it gives her the highest Attack boost out of all the available Summons.

Barrier, Fortification, Time, and Empowerment are used so that Aerith can boost the party's defenses, ATB charge rate, and damage while HP Up and MP Up help her survive more hits and cast more spells respectively.

For the linked Materia, Magnify and Healing are used to heal the entire party in a pinch, Swiftcast and Revival to instantly revive a downed ally, and lastly Magic Efficiency and Reraise to cast Reraise on an ally at a lower MP cost.

Finally, Phoenix is used because it gives her the highest Magic boost out of all the available Summons.

Steal a Pristine Crown for The Saga of the Seaside Inn Side Quest
