Hueyacoatl Boss Fight Tips

Link Elemental Materia with Wind Materia on Your Weapon

It is highly recommended to equip the Elemental Materia and link it with the Wind Materia on your weapon as it will infuse your basic attacks with the Wind element which will help greatly on filling the stagger gauge when Hueyacoatl gets pressured.

How to Get the Elemental Materia

Use Arcane Ward

FF7 Rebirth - Arcane Ward

Use the Arcane Ward ability in order to cast Wind spells twice against the Hueyacoatl.

Unlocked through Guard Stick

The Arcane Ward ability can be learned by equipping the Guard Stick and mastering its weapon ability. You can then use Arcane Ward without equipping Guard Stick after mastering it.

Attack from Afar with Wind or Ranged Attacks During Supercharged

FF7 Rebirth - Ranged Attack
Use Aerith to cast Wind spells (preferably Aeroga) or use Cloud's ranged attack by using the circle button to dodge and then pressing Square to do a ranged attack. Supercharged is a state where Hueyacoatl will continually emit electricity and you will get stunned if you get hit by it.

Get Away from Hueyacoatl When it Uses Thunderbolt

FF7 Rebirth - Thunderbolt
Once you see the Thunderbolt prompt, immediately get away as far as possible as Hueyacoatl will slam itself into the ground while emitting electricity, possibly stunning your character.

Use Tifa's Reverse Gale to Bring Down Hueyacoatl

Reverse Gale is an ability that can launch an enemy or knock down an enemy into the ground with wind-aspected attacks. This will be your main source of knocking down Hueyacoatl as it always flies during the battle.

Unlocked through Sylph Gloves

The Reverse Gale ability can be learned by equipping the Sylph Gloves and mastering its weapon ability. You can then use Reverse Gale without equipping the weapon after mastering it.
