Obtain from a Quest

This item can be obtained either after or during the Side Quest, In the Fog.

How to Use the Sunhawk Shredder Gauntlet

Throw and Catch the Shredder Repeatedly at Enemies

Shredder Gauntlets HFW

The Shredder Gauntlet is a unique type of weapon that uses Shredder ammo, which continuously slices into enemies for a short time before returning. As it returns, you can catch and release it again with increased damage, but it explodes after unleashing it for the fourth time.

How to Use a Shredder Gauntlet
1 Hold L2 to aim, and press and hold R2 to charge the Shredder Gauntlet.
The more you charge it, the longer it will slice into enemies.
2 Release R2 to unleash the Shredder at an enemy.
3 When it hits an enemy, wait for a couple of seconds while it inflicts continuous damage.
4 When you see the Shredder return, head towards it and run into the Shredder to catch it.

Acid Elemental Damage

Acid Damage HFW

This weapon can inflict Acid damage on enemies, which causes the Corroding state. The Corroding State inflicts additional damage to enemies over time and weakens their armor. Acid elemental damage is also more effective against some enemies.

Tear HFW

Though Tear Shredders deal siginficantly less impact damage than most Shredder types, they have exceptionally high tear damage which can be used to tear off components from enemies.

You can upgrade the weapon to increase the chances of tearing off components with its perks.

How to Craft Tear Shredders: Materials and Compatible Weapons

Best Used while Sliding or in Mid-Air

This weapon has perks which make it highly effective when used while Aloy is constantly moving since it has increased damage while sliding or in mid-air. You can increase the effectiveness of these perks by upgrading your weapon.
