After the A Tribe Apart Side Quest, you'll be able to find Sokorra in the Scalding Spear settlement as she is about to be deployed once again. Talk to her to begin the Errand.
You can also start this Errand by talking to both Jaxx and Korreh in the Plainsong settlement instead, which skips the first objective in this guide.

Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Talk to Korreh and Jaxx in Plainsong After talking to Sokorra, head towards Plainsong and talk to Jaxx and the recovering Korreh. |
2 | Meet up with Jaxx Destroy the Machines After your conversation, you'll have to meet Jaxx southwest of Plainsong in the forest. Once you find him, you'll have to defeat several Machines in the area in order to progress. Talk to Jaxx afterwards. |
3 | Follow the Longleg's Call Destroy the Machines After talking to Jaxx, follow the quest markers up to a mountain – dive into a bush immediately afterwards to engage in stealth. Take down the Machines. |
4 | Talk to Jaxx (Optional) Loot the Machines and Return to Korreh After the fight, you can choose to talk to Jaxx as an optional objective. Eitherway, once the Machines have been looted, return to Plainsong. |
5 | Build the Instrument Use the Workbench nearby to build Korreh's Modified Instrument. Give it to him afterwards to finish the Errand. |
The Machines you find fighting against Jaxx in the forest comprise of Apex Leaplashers that can perform Shock Attacks.
Using items such as Purgewater followed by Cryo attacks would be useful in this fight. In the absence of these however, baiting the Leaplashers into attacks that you can dodge will allow you to shoot arrows at their flanks – should this be difficult, counterattacking with melee attacks is also a viable option due to their being only two Machines you have to fight through.
Although fighting against through to the Longleg is a viable option at this juncture, it is not the most recommended due to the presence of several Apex Spikesnouts that can complicate the fight, which leaves the Longleg enough time to call for reinforcements. Instead, try to attract the Longleg near a bush you are hiding in and take it down before it can do so.
The Spikesnouts that come after the Longlegs are much more complicated to fight against – the best way to deal with them would be to wait until they attack. The seconds directly after their attacks are when they leave themselves vulnerable, as they will pause and give you precious moments to target the Weak Points on top of their heads.
