As the leader of the Desert Clan, Yarra has a very stern and cold personality. Due to the recent water shortage at Scalding Spear, tensions between her and other clan members have worsened, making her more untrusting to those around her.
Yarra is the current leader of the Desert Clan and is responsible for supplying water, to the people of Scalding Spear and other settlements. Jetakka and Aloy meet Yarra to talk about water shortage, and Yarra reluctantly agrees to let Aloy help her solve the crisis. Yarra and Drakka eventually challenge each other to a duel as a result of one of Drakka's men being found dead near the source of the water supply. Depending on your decision in the Side Quest The Gate of the Vanquished, either Yarra or Drakka dies, and the survivor becomes the leader of Scalding Spear and will offer the Burden of Command Errand to you.

Yarra's rise to the leader of the desert clan is a result of her reputatuion as a ruthless fighter. Her skills with a bow and spear are displayed when she helps you kill machines near the water source, as well as during the battle at the Gate of the Vanquished.
