This is a guide that explains how to clear paths blocked by Firegleam and Metal Flowers in Horizon Forbidden West (HFW). Read on to learn about what Firegleam Metal Flowers are and how to get rid of them.

How to Destroy Firegleam
1. FindFiregleam.jpgWhen you get close to a patch of Firegleam, a prompt to use your Igniter will appear. Press the R2 button to activate your Igniter.
2. IgniteFiregleam.jpg After pressing R2 Aloy will automatically ignite the Firegleam.
3. ExplosionMakesHole.jpg The resulting explosion will create a hole which can lead to a new path or area. Make sutre to step back far enough to avoid being damaged by the explosion.

Note that the Igniter is obtained after completing the Story Mission Death's Door.

How to Clear Vines

How to Destroy Metal Flowers
1. AttackMetalFlower Large.jpegWhen you see a Metal Flower, press the R2 to attack it with your spear until it is completely open.
2. VineCutterPrompt Large.jpeg After hitting the Metal Flower 3 times, you will get a prompt to use the Vine Cutter Module. Activate it by pressing R2.
3. DestroyedFlower.jpg After using the Vine Cutter, the Metal Flower and vines attached to it will disappear.

Note that the Vine Cutter is obtained after completing the Story Mission Seeds of the Past.

What is Firegleam

Firegleam are patches of a crystalized substance resembling fungi. They appear in various places thorughout the world, and often reveal paths to rare items or secret areas when removed.

What Are Metal Flowers

VInes that Block Youir Path

Metal Flowers are metallic structures resembling unbloomed flowers. Removing them will allows to access new paths, as well as obtain rare items.
