Are Cutscenes Skippable?

Whether or not a cutscene is skippable depends on the type of cutscene it is.

The Opening Cut Scene is Not Skippable

In order to bring players who didn't complete Horizon Zero Dawn up to speed, the opening scene that is played upon starting a new game is not skippable. It is possible to pause and resume play of it by pressing the 'O' button. Other cutscenes of similar importance to this may be treated the same way. More details on this to come.

Story Development Cutscenes are Skippable

Any cutscene related to the development of the main Story can be skipped by pressing the '口' button.

Quest Related Cutscenes are Skippable

You can skip through a custscene related to a quest by pressing the 'X' button.

Conversation Cutscenes are Skippable

Similar to quest-related cutscenes, cutscenes involving conversations with other characters can be skipped through by pressing the 'X' button
