Erend Profile and Backstory

Personality

While initally appearing as crass, proud, and a heavy drinker, conversations with Erend are full of comical while occasionally being emotionally awkward.

However Erend is shown to be very capaable when necessary, and takes his position as Captain of the Vanguard very seriously. He is also very loyal to his allies, as shown when he helps Aloy in the battle against HADES.

Horizon Zero Dawn

The younger brother of the captain of the Vanguard, Ersa, Erend initially meet Aloy during the Proving trials. He eventually becomes the captain of the Vanguard after Ersa's death and assists Aloy in Meridian during her fight with HADES.

Horizon Forbidden West

Sometime between the events of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Erend obtains a Focus. Currently he is shown to be captured by raiders from another tribe.

Skills and Abilities

Great Public Speaker

Erend is a great orator. His speaking ability convinced a crowd of Nora from attacking a Carja escort.

Formidable Combatant

As a captain of the Vanguard, Erend is a talented fighter. His fighting ability is further enhanced by his Oseram armor.
