| Description | To enter the Forbidden West and track down Sylens, Aloy must first attend an Embassy on the border of the Carja Sundom. But dangerous new machines threaten to halt the proceedings. |

| 1 |  ・Go to Chainscrape ・Upgrade Your Bow Pass through Chainscrape and upgrade your Weapons and Armor. You can pass directly through the town to continue on to the Find Erend objective. Take out the Scroungers. |
| 2 |  ・Find Erend ・Kill the Machines Use the Focus to highlight Erend's tracks and follow them. Fight the machines at the end of the path. |
| 3 |  ・Talk to Erend You'll make a Flashpoint Choice. The option you choose will have no effect on gameplay, so feel free to choose the one that you like best. |
| 4 |  ・Clear the Daunt Kill the Acid Bristlebacks. After the battle, Fast Travel back to Chainscrape. If you go to a Campfire, you can Fast Travel for free. |
| 5 |  ・Talk to Ulvund ・Talk to Vuadis Talk to each character to complete the Quest. |
The Acid Bristlebacks are weak to Shock damage, so setting up Shock Traps in their path before they notice you is an easy way to pick them off.
If you have upgraded your Hunter Bow to have Acid Arrows to deal Acid Damage, you can also shoot the Canisters on their backs with Acid Arrows to start a Chain Reaction, dealing explosive damage.
