This guide will show you how to complete The Second Verse, a Side Quest in Horizon Forbidden West (HFW). Read on to learn the quest objectives, strategies, location, and rewards for completing the The Second Verse Side Quest.

Unlock this side quest by completing The Eye of the Earth main quest.
Talk to Zo in The Base to begin the side quest.
During the middle of the side quest, you wil have to wait for Zo to set up the reboot code. You have to complete Faro's Tomb to proceed further into the quest.

1 | Go to the Meeting Place Follow the map marker to the campfire and call Zo. |
2 | Kill the Machines Arrive to the Grimhorn site and kill the machines to retrieve their cores. After that, talk to Zo. |
3 | Talk to Zo at The Base Go back to The Base and talk to Zo. |
4 | Wait for the Reboot Code Wait for Zo to set up the reboot code. The next objective will unlock after completing Faro's Tomb. Once this is done, talk to Zo again. |
5 | Install the Reboot Code in the Canyon Follow the map marke to reach the north of the mountain. Use your spear to open the Metal Flower to proceed to finding the Land-god Do. |
6 | Search for the Source of the Vines and Free Do After opening the first metal flower, climb up to the rocks to find Do trapped in vines. Climb up the surrounding rocks to reach the metal flowers to remove the vines until you open a cave that allows you to reach the flower on the top. |
7 | Reboot Do After clearing the vines, reboot Do and proceed to the next Land-gods. |
8 | Go to the Shrine at the Lake Follow the mountain path southwest of The Base to reach the next Land-god. |
9 | Swim Inside the Lake to find the Land-god Dive into the lake to find the next Land-god and install the reboot code. There's a Snapmaw roaming nearby, which you have to avoid. Pry the rocks surrounding the Land-god So to install the reboot code. |
10 | Go to the Shrine at Cinnabar Sands Proceed to the Cinnabar Sand Shrine to find the next Land-god surrounded by machines. Kill the machines to clear the area. |
11 | Kill the Stormbird and Install the Reboot Code While trying to install the code, you will be interrupted by a Stormbird. Kill the machine to install the code. |
12 | Talk to Zo to Send out the Reboot Signal Go to Zo at Plainsong to complete the side quest |
Acid arrows are the Stormbird's weakness, breaking down their armor and dealing damage. This slows them down too, allowing you to use weapons like the Spike Thrower to break more components.
You can acquire the Utaru Warden by talking to Zo after finishing the quest. She is back in the base (before Singularity), or in Plainsong (after Singularity).
