How to The Bristlebacks and Location

Unlock and Chainscrape and Talk to Ulvund

You can unlock Deep Trouble after entering Chainscrape during the To The Brink main quest.

Bristleback Location

Talk to Ulvund to begin the side quest.

Finish the Embassy

To complete the final quest objectives, you need to complete The Embassy main quest to access the Forbidden West.

How to Complete

Objectives
1 Talk to the Carja MagistrateTalk to the Carja Magistrate
Go to the middle of Chainscrape and talk to the Javad the Willing.
2 Search the QuarrySearch the Quarry
Go to the Quarrt in the West and find a Bristleback carcass you can investigate.
3 Follow the Trail to the back of the ValleyFollow the Trail to the back of the Valley
Move up the trail until you reach a mine.
4 Explore the Mine and Kill BristlebacksExplore the Mine and Kill Bristlebacks
Enter the mine and explore until you reach a huge chamber with Bristlebacks. Take them down to investigate further.
5 Investigate the Smoke and Examine the NoteInvestigate the Smoke and Examine the Note
Move towards the smoke, and look to the left to find a note in the middle of Blaze barrels.
6 Return to Javad the WillingReturn to Javad the Willing
After investigating the mines, return to Javad.
7 Go to the Rebel CampGo to the Rebel Camp
After completing the Embassy, go to the Rebel Camp and take down the Chargers and Bandits. Investigate the cave for a cutscene.
8 Return to Javad the Willing 2Return to Javad the Willing
Return to Javad to complete the side quest.

Tips and Strategies

Use Acid Arrows on the Bristlebacks

Bristlebacks for formidable enemies. Upgrading your bow and using an Acid Arrow on their canisters will deal high damage.

Unlock the Nora Champion

The Nora Champion Outfit can be unlocked after completing this quest and will be in your inventory.
