This Tallneck will not be made available until you discover Cauldron: IOTA , northeast of Saltbite.

How to Locate the Saltbite Tallneck

Locate Cauldron IOTA

Entrance

Inside Cauldron

Normally Tallnecks are found above ground. In the case of the Saltbite Tallneck, you'll need to uncover and finish Cauldron IOTA in order to override it. Before that, it will not show on your map.

When overriding the Tallneck, there are no enemies encountered. All enemies are part of Cauldron IOTA.

Overriding the Saltbite Tallneck

Locate the Tallneck

Inside Cauldron IOTA, Aloy will discover that the Tallneck is stuck in place. It seems the Cauldron had built iit but could not finish. You can override the Cauldron but with the Tallneck in the way, there's no way out.

Progress through the Cauldron

In order to leave, you'll need to progress and head in deeper until you discover the Tallneck's head. Head up on top to release it and take a little ride through the Cauldron on top!

Climb Up The Tallneck

Once everything has calmed down, you can now proceed to override the Tallneck, climbing around on different spots to reach it's head. By this point, you should have received the Saltbite Tallneck quest.

Override the Tallneck With Your Spear

Now that the worst is over, step forward and use your spear to override the Tallneck. This will reveal a chunk of the map, along with the machine sites that you can find!

You will also now see the newly built Tallneck wandering it's space here up top!
