Horizon Zero Dawn had the Flashpoint choices system where players are able to answer dialogue a certain way as well as the outcome of specific quests. Although you could choose how Aloy would respond, those decisions do not affect the overall story of the game.
While Horizon Forbidden West will likely follow in its predecessor's footsteps of choices in the game only really affecting dialogue, the narrative director shared that players will be faced with strong moral choices which will have extremely powerful consequences.
