The story of Horizon Forbidden West follows the protagonist Aloy once more, as she explores the lands of the Forbidden West. Her goal is to find the source of a plague that has been ravaging the land, and uncover the mysteries of the region.

As Aloy prevents another extinction event from happening, she must explore dangerous areas filled with storms and strong machines. The world is also rife with exploration, with many places that provide you with details about the forgotten past, new items and upgrades, along with new groups and factions that you will meet along the way.
