Cradle of Echoes Walkthrough

Objectives
1	・Talk to Varl ・Examine the Zenith's Corpse ・Investigate the Battlefield On the battlefield, scan and examine the Specter with the triangle button. Look up and to the left and you'll see a ledge with a path you can walk up – to the right, you can find a Corpse and a Charred Weapon to examine, and to the left, you'll find a set of Camping Gear to examine.
2	・Return to Erend ・Talk to Varl ・Examine the Central Processor ・Search the Facility for the Asset Continue into the facility and go along the path. You'll find a door in the location shown, at the far side of the large room on the end.
3	・Examine the Console ・Enter the Code In the next room, you'll find a terminal which requires a code. The code is 237. The code can be found listed in the Text Datapoint called Distress Signal. Check Notebook > Datapoints to find it.
4	・Prepare for Battle ・Kill the Specter The Specter will appear suddenly, so you'll just need to wait for it. Craft the materials you'll need and fill up your medicine pouch before the battle. The Specter is weak to Acid damage, so shooting it with Acid Arrows until it hits the limit can temporarily leave it vulnerable.
5	・Examine the Weapon After the battle, exit the facility by the same way you came in. Outside, you'll fight another Specter, so prepare now before you go outside. The Specter will not see you at first, so try to sneak behind it and target its Control Nexus. Behind the Specter and to the right, you can find a Ravager corpse. You can knock off its Ravager Cannon to use in the battle.
6	・Return to the Base ・Talk to Varl and the Clone ・Talk to GAIA In the Base, complete the conversation objectives to finish the Quest.

Tips and Strategies

Aim for the Specter's Control Nexus

The Specter's weak spot is a small structure on its back called the Control Nexus – if you can target it from behind, this structure will be unguarded and vulnerable to attacks. It can also be targeted from its underside if you get a good angle on it.

If you succeed at tearing off the Control Nexus, you also have a chance of obtaining a Luminous Brainstem, one of the rarest upgrade materials in the game.

Use Ravager Cannon

You can tear off a Ravager Cannon from a Ravager corpse on the right side where you sneak up to the Specter. You can shoot it with arrows or your spear to remove it. Use it then to target the Specter's Control Nexus to wither down the Specter's health in just a short time.
